Dock is an Iconic graphical person Interface (GUI) feature of the Mac OS X working machine. Dock gives a quick Method for the user to release and alternate Software Program Packages.

Dock is similar to ObjectDock and RocketDock on Windows Operating Systems.

What Does Dock Mean?

Dock is a Function of NEXTSTEP and OpenStep, which had been Mac OS X predecessors. A separate iPhone operating sySTEM version is used with the iPhone and iPad.

Dock functions consist of:

  • Capable of retaining a couple of gadgets
  • Located at the bottom of a display display
  • May be manually relocated to other display screen regions, together with left, right or top
  • Dynamically resizes packages to suit show displays
